REME Workshop, Marne Barracks, Catterick

Hathaway delivered specialist roofing, external wall cladding and internal wall systems for the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Workshop at Marne Barracks, Catterick, North Yorkshire, as part of a major defence infrastructure development in 1995

The Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) play a vital role in supporting the British Army, providing specialist maintenance, servicing and repair of military vehicles, machinery and equipment. The workshop facilities at Catterick Garrison were developed to support these essential engineering and operational requirements, providing substantial, purpose-built accommodation for military maintenance activities.

Working alongside main contractor Higgs & Hill on Phase B of the development, Hathaway delivered a comprehensive roofing and cladding package. Works included profiled metal roof coverings, external wall cladding and internal wall systems, together with associated roof interfaces, flashings and weatherproofing details.

Dating back to 1995, the project highlights Hathaway’s longstanding involvement in the UK defence sector and our experience delivering specialist building envelope solutions for demanding military environments.
