The purpose-built facility supports the maintenance and repair of the Royal Air Force’s A400M Atlas transport fleet at RAF Brize Norton, the RAF’s largest station. Providing three aircraft maintenance bays alongside specialist workshops, stores and support facilities, the building was designed around the demanding operational requirements of an active military airfield.
Hathaway’s works included aluminium standing seam roofing, insulated wall cladding, rooflights, rainwater systems and specialist radar-diffusing cladding incorporated into areas of the building facing the runway.
