This World Environment Day, we’re highlighting the impact of our long-standing partnership with Community Wood Recycling.
Across our project sites and fabrication division, Hathaway has helped rescue 13.8 tonnes of wood from the waste stream, saving 6.7 tonnes of CO₂ and supporting valuable training and paid work opportunities for people facing barriers to employment.
Importantly, 80% of the wood collected was pushed up the waste hierarchy into reuse, supporting local communities through DIY and building projects, handcrafted products, furniture and donations.
This is a great example of how practical action on site can support the circular economy, reduce environmental impact and create positive social value beyond our projects.
At Hathaway, sustainability is not just about what we build, it is about the legacy we leave behind.
