Hathaway were appointed by VolkerFitzpatrick to deliver a comprehensive roofing and external cladding package for MPC3, a major logistics and distribution facility developed by GLP at Magna Park Corby, Northamptonshire.
Designed by Chetwoods and completed in 2023, the 586,353 sq ft development provides modern warehousing, office accommodation and associated facilities, achieving BREEAM Outstanding and EPC A+ ratings.
Hathaway’s works encompassed the main warehouse roof, extensive wall cladding, office accommodation and associated external envelope elements.
The main warehouse roof incorporated Kingspan insulated composite panels, complemented by approximately 7,569m² of triple-skin GRP rooflights, designed to maximise natural daylight throughout the building. Roofing works also extended to the main office accommodation, alongside associated parapet cladding, rainwater goods and flashings.
A distinctive feature of the development is its graduated blue façade, incorporating Kingspan micro-rib composite panels in six complementary shades. Contrasting vertically profiled cladding in Sapphire Blue provides definition to the lower elevations, creating a contemporary appearance across the extensive warehouse façades.
The main offices featured architectural Multi-Groove composite panels, with Hathaway’s wider package also including cladding to two transport hub offices, polycarbonate daylight panels and an aluminium-clad entrance portico.
