Volunteering Week & World Environment Day
On Friday, we swapped our desks for gardening gloves as our team visited Low Barns Nature Reserve to support local conservation efforts by helping remove Himalayan balsam, an invasive non-native plant.
Himalayan balsam spreads quickly and can crowd out native plants, reducing biodiversity and affecting local habitats. By removing it before it seeds, we helped protect the reserve’s natural environment and support local wildlife.
It was a great way to mark both Volunteering Week and World Environment Day, giving us the opportunity to make a positive impact while spending time outdoors with colleagues.
A big thank you to the team at Low Barns Nature Reserve for hosting us and sharing their knowledge throughout the day.
Every small action helps make a difference.
