Today we’re shining a spotlight on Malcolm Hyde, who has been with Hathaway for four years and completed a Level 3 Metal Fabricator apprenticeship, specialising in sheet metal work and fabrication.
Malcolm chose the apprenticeship route to gain hands-on experience while building technical knowledge – and it’s paid off.
“The apprenticeship has significantly improved my confidence and capability, allowing me to manufacture work to a high standard. I’m now more confident interpreting drawings, following schedules, and meeting client specifications.”
Malcolm’s journey shows how apprenticeships provide strong technical foundations while developing real-world skills directly in the workplace.
“I would recommend an apprenticeship to anyone considering a career in fabrication, as it provides practical experience and valuable technical knowledge.”
We’re proud to see Malcolm continuing to grow within Hathaway.
