For Zero Waste Week, we are highlighting practical ways Hathaway are helping keep materials in use for longer.
Through pallet-return services provided by key supply chain partners, suitable pallets can be collected and returned for reuse rather than entering the waste stream.
We are also working with Community Wood Recycling to redirect suitable waste timber and give it a second purpose, helping usable material support local activity instead of being treated as waste.
Reuse can also mean finding a new home for materials that are no longer needed on our projects. Earlier this year, we donated surplus materials to Timothy Hackworth Primary School in Shildon, giving them a useful second life within the local community.
We are continuing to improve our waste data and identify further opportunities to reduce waste, return materials and support reuse across our projects.
