Principal Park, Crawley

Hathaway delivered the specialist external envelope package for this purpose-built data centre at Principal Park, Crawley. Developed by Digital Realty for Rackspace, the highly energy-efficient facility was designed to provide four data halls as part of a major 15-acre data centre campus.

Our works incorporated a combination of Eurobond Rainspan Extra rockwool-cored composite panels and Kingspan composite panels across the data halls, offices, stair housing and plant enclosures. Aluminium composite and fibre cement rainscreen systems were also installed to the office and entrance areas, providing contrasting architectural finishes across the building envelope.

The facility was designed with strong sustainability credentials, achieving a BREEAM Excellent design assessment and incorporating innovative indirect outside-air cooling technology to significantly reduce the energy required for cooling.
