Having completed the Company Audit for year ending March 31st 2007, our 40th since founded and 10th since the successful MBO, we can report a further successful year.
Overheads have been reduced, contracts have been successful and net profit after tax on £31m turnover has increased in line with expectations. This increase is a result of better cost control, our employees increased ability and experience, repeat orders and an improved approach to risk management. Dominant sales factors are a demonstratable “value for money” approach and ability to “compete on price”.
We have also undertaken some limited schools construction in Scotland which being of a repeat nature, should provide an improvement framework, albeit challenging to all concerned.
We have been awarded the Presidents Prize by the NFRC for our performance on T5 and we believe we are still held up as a benchmark for overall performance by our clients and peers alike.
Our objective is to continue to make Hathaway “The Contractor of Choice” and the benchmark for the industry. We will achieve this by focusing on clients requirements, delivering value and encouraging continuous improvement, enabling our employees to fulfil their potential in a safe rewarding and enduring environment.
All members of staff participate in profit sharing which compliments our determination to build up our portfolio of satisfied customers.
Outlook for the future remains buoyant and we are confident that we will continue to enjoy a successful relationship with our clients.
In order to mark 10 years of success we arranged a Summer Event for our staff and consultants at the Bishops Palace in Bishop Auckland, as well as an extra “Birthday” holiday on the 4th June.
Our regular suppliers & installers also deserve a plaudit for their response to our sometimes demanding requirements and have been rewarded with product volume of satisfied end Clients, secure credit and prompt payments.
