History - from past to present

Hathaway Roofing Limited has over 40 years experience in the Construction sector. The company was formed in 1967 by our founder, Bernard Hathaway. Our first contract was a warehouse for the catalogue giants "Brian Mills" in Sunderland.

Since then Hathaway's have grown and expanded and are able to work nationwide, serving our valued client base. Our business has a strong family culture with loyal, experienced and many long serving employees.

Our Chairman - Dave Binks joined the company in 1981, from Conder Northern. Dave has brought a wealth of design expertise and progressive management skills and was quickly appointed as Managing Director.

Our former Managing Director (retired December 2009) - Ken Ripley, a Chartered structural engineer, joined us from Conder Norther in 1988 as our Technical Project Manager.

Kevin Hall - our current Managing Director joined us in 1989 and has a broad spectrum of experience.

Our founder, Bernard Hathaway retired in 1997, after a successful MBO on 5th June 1997.

Part of our success has been the ability to adapt in a changing market. The progression of the envelope design has enabled us to extend the range of services we can offer to our clients.

We have been involved with many innovative projects such as Toyota in 1990 for £10m, T5 Heathrow for £41m (2003 - 2007), ExCel Exhibition project - phase 1 for £6.5m in 2000 with phase 2 for £10m due to start in 2009, among many others.

We have an excellent reputation in the market place with emphasis on strong design capability and management of successful project logistics.

We have been active members of the NFRC since 1990 and we are founder members of Teamkal. Our management and staff are motivated, keen to develop, improve and have pride in belonging to such a team. We see strong relationships with a selected client base as being the platform for our continued success.
